Lightweight
Carbon Fiber is lightweight because it is made up of carbon atoms which are very light, and of low density. This is why carbon fiber weighs much less than metals like steel or aluminum. When these fibers are combined with a resin to form a composite, the result is a material that’s stiffer and stronger than steel for its weight — but only a fraction as heavy.
